Alta Mogiana is the name given to a selection of coffees from a group of around a hundred small producers in the Mogiana region in the province of São Paulo. Lhe region itself takes its name from the railway system, Railways Mogiana Company, which was built in 1872 to transport the huge volumes of coffee that were grown in the region.
