This region of Africa produces exceptional coffees with their rich soils suitable for cultivation. Production and export of their green coffees have been in decline since plans to liberate the country fell through in 1993. Since then, their production has fallen from 46,000 tonnes to less than 6 216 tons. A sad reality which should make us appreciate even more the fact of still being able to drink coffee from Burundi...
